Heat is the most common treatment applied to Tanzanite. Gentle heat is applied to the gemstone for a period of time, resulting in a Tanzanite with improved rich color. Heat treatment is permanent, and will endure the lifetime of the gemstone, therefore, the vast majority of Tanzanites undergo this treatment.
